Mental Performance Coaching

$130/50-minute session

Description:

Mental Performance Coaching (MPC) is more commonly known as sport psychology. The main focus of MPC is to help athletes learn and develop a variety of skills that will help them learn how to perform under pressure, handle anxiety and uncertainty, and perform at their best no matter what obstacles are thrown their way.

Together, we may focus on skills or topics such as:

  • Imagery/visualization

  • Goal-setting

  • Mindfulness

  • Self-talk

  • Relaxation and focus techniques

  • Confidence

  • Motivation

  • Mental toughness

  • Growth mindset

My Approach:

I strive to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible in our work together. My style is warm, curious, and compassionate, with a touch of humor thrown in for good measure. Our main focus will be helping you understand what you want to get out of our sessions, setting goals together, and working toward helping you expand your ability to weather the storm of difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences that come with being a competitive athlete. I will challenge you to grow throughout our work together and support you throughout the process.

Psychotherapy

$130/50-minute session

Description:

Therapy is for athletes with clinical mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma and PTSD, and other issues that may be getting in the way of them being able to train and compete unencumbered.

Therapy may be for you if:

  • You feel lost or hopeless

  • Anxiety is ruling your life and getting in the way of you enjoying your sport

  • You have a challenging relationship with food, eating, exercise, and/or your body

  • You want to understand and change difficult patterns of behavior or ways of thinking

  • You are struggling with sleep, mood, and/or social activity

  • These problems are getting in the way of your daily routine and enjoyment of life

My Approach:

I utilize a combination of psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches in my work with therapy clients. This involves exploring your background to help you make connections between different symptoms and patterns you are experiencing, which can help you expand your awareness and understanding of why you feel the way you do. We will also work together to set goals and develop tools to help you cope with all of the ups and downs of life that we experience as humans. All the while, you will be supported with compassion, warmth, and a touch of humor, because therapy is hard and I want to make it feel as welcoming and enjoyable as possible.
